"The actual remodeling process was low-stress."
Heartland recently completed an extensive project for us which included: remodel of master suite, remodel of two other bathrooms and laundry room, addition of a bathroom in the basement, installation of wood, tile, and LVT flooring throughout our entire main level, and repair of several instances of water damage.
Heartland’s planning process took time, and we saw that as an asset. All decisions were made and details worked out before the contract was signed. As a result, the actual remodeling process was low-stress. Because of the thorough advance planning we had virtually no surprises.
The results exceeded our expectations. We came away from this experience with the utmost respect for the folks at Heartland and for the way they do business. We found Mike Gatschet to be candid, fair, honest, and careful. His staff’s interactions with us reflected these qualities. Every single Heartland employee who was involved in our project - from design to extensive contract planning to execution - was someone we would choose to work with again. They were professional, accomplished, and reliable.

"Totally honest. No qualms."
Both TJ (the interior worker) and Curtis (the outside guy) did very nice jobs and promptly got things underway and done. I had to have them come back on the porch (not their fault) and they did so promptly and without complaint. I also found these folks to be totally honest and I have no qualms wanting them to do more work for me. I did not bother with getting multiple bids for these jobs, but I think pricing is reasonable as was job-site time. There was no wasted time and everybody was very pleasant to get along with. Very nice to work with a contractor like this!

"I’m very happy with the work and the quality."
We had Heartland design and construct a front porch addition, hang new siding and new windows. The cost was more than we expected at first, but they worked with us to see where we could "compromise" and ended up with a budget we both agreed upon. At the end of the project, the cost was exactly what they said it would be. I have worked with many contractors where you get the bill a month after the project is finished, and it's 150/200% higher than the number you thought.
Other than financials, the craftsmanship was excellent. I'm very happy with the work and the quality.
Last, they have an in-house drafter/designer (Nathan) that will show you what your project will look like (to-scale) at no cost to you. Nathan was the starting point and we loved working with him. I had interviewed architects/designers before calling Heartland and they wanted $3,000-$5,000 just for a drawing. Heartland has the designer and computer software in-house to allow clients to see the finished product.
